I’m finally booked for a COVID shot in FLA

publix

I’m back at the Publix vaccine site at 7am.  If it’s Friday, it must be Moderna. Please hold on, the site implores.

Strange how we are giving away vaccines to foreign countries, when we can’t get them yet in FLA.

Meanwhile, I woke up with sore knees and back from the 10-mile walking and biking episode yesterday.

Made some chamomile tea, and put a drop or two of the D8 tincture in it (see prior post).

An hour later, problem solved.  The tincture is not as strong as the chocolate (see prior post!), and so does not knock you out.

I am thinking about buying De Quincey’s book (the original edition, not the inferior revised version).

I read excerpts of Confessions of an Opium Eater in my sophomore year in college, when I was studying 19th Century English literature — and came across the pre-Raphaelites — a loose collection of Victorian-era bohemian artist types that caught my interest at age 20.

Meanwhile, I have been watching Billions off and on on Amazon Prime.  I liked it because I grew up outside NYC, and lived in Manhattan for many years and developed financial trading systems during part of that time.

(7:20, and the county I live in is down to 87%.)

Billions has a very literate script.  I don’t get the need for the whole Giamatti S&M thing, seems kind of weird and irrelevant to the plot at large. An (obvious) point the series makes seems to be that all that Wall Street trading and the Hedgie biz is really about is inside info — which is kind of naive, but I left that world long ago, so don’t really care any more about imparting my take on it.

I particularly enjoyed the brief (on Billions) scene at the Gray’s Papaya on 72nth and Broadway. Brought back definitive memories of when I used to live in that neib with my then g/f, now wife — since that was the sort of thing I did, rather than hang out in all these ritzy penthouses with the killer views that the show loves to porn over.

Hey surprise, surprise!

My number came up, and I am NOW booked for a COVID VACCINE this coming Tuesday!

Yippee!

I take it all back.  😉

update: my wife just got hers for a Pfizer shot. Double yippee!!

  1. Thank goodness man! You outsmarted Florida. Congrats! I just got my second Moderna shot on Wednesday. We are all moving forward.

  2. Thanks for the congrats. Alas the drive to get to this place is 30 minutes away by highway taking I-95. Florida, where nothing is normal.
