Deep River, CT

Although Madison was a bust, Deep River was anything but.

We arrived around noon, and stopped at the Whistle Stop Cafe for a quick lunch by a small canal that feeds off the Connecticut River.

Then we checked into the Gris, had dinner at their dining room, and walked around the ferry/wharf area.

The room at the gris was stunning, and the dinner was quite good though quite expensive.

I ordered the fresh catch swordfish special. It was delicious, but I was disappointed when I asked for a flat fish knife that they’d never heard of such a utensil.
